Last week I failed my glucose test

I am doing good with the sugar levels I have problems before dinner and the 2 hour test after dinner some times. But the past two mornings I have failed my keytones test. 85 year old Insulin dependent Diabetic who has been having variations in her sugar levels for the last 7 days. We are in UK and normal reading is under 10mml/ol but my Nan keeps getting readings of 18.7, 12.9, 17.9 and a few hours ago 12.9. She has not eaten anything she shouldn’t do and I can find no cause for this.
I contacted the doctor who said she probably eat something she shouldn’t of. Useless. So I tested her urine with a clinitest urine strip and it came out positive for sugar in her Urine.
What could be causing this? I was thinking of getting her a H1ABC test to check her...

Okay well I have been having symptoms of T1 and when I was babysitting my neighbor (who has T1) I had to check his blood sugar so I decided to check mine. After I changed the lancet and strip and tested my sugar it was 130. Is that normal for a non diabetic? I was thinking about getting a cheap meter and just recording my readings for a week or so to see if they are high or low and if I should get tested. Whats your opinion?
I hadn’t eaten anything in a while when I took the test. And my mom won’t let me take the actual test from my doctor’s office so I was thinking if I got a cheap...

I need help interpreting my urine dipstick result–specifically in terms of bilirubin. With the strips I used, urine that has no bilirubin does not cause a color change at all on the dipstick; in other words it should remain a light cream color. A positive result is supposed to be a tan-ish color. My result was neither. Instead, I got a dark, vivid orange result. I’ve read elsewhere that any color change is abnormal, and that a color other than the typical positive result (tan) may indicate bile pigments other than bilirubin in the urine. Can anyone tell me what the significance of...
